Ms. Hulsizer

Welcome to First Grade!!! My name is Lainey Hulsizer and I recently moved from Portland Oregon. I am so excited to spend the year with all of you! Here’s a little about me…

I graduated from Portland State University with B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. After college, I worked as a Teacher Counselor in a residential facility for youth with mental illnesses. During this time, I also supervised the elementary age program and acted as crisis support for the other programs. After spending much time in the schools on campus, I was inspired to go back to school to become a teacher. In June, I graduated from Portland State with a Masters in Education. I am continuing my education at Portland State through online courses and hope to eventually apply for my Ph.D.

Outside of work and school, I love all sports (besides the Oregon Ducks...) and played competitive soccer my whole life. After playing in college, I began coaching at the club where I played growing up. I have also enjoyed my time coaching at the high school and collegiate level. Besides sports, I am obsessed with my pets and love being outdoors, working out, cooking, and photography.
