Let me introduce myself

I am Mrs. Amanda Johns your student's teacher. I am a mother, dog mom, and wife. I enjoy spending my free time organizing, doing puzzles, reading, and traveling to California. I am a teacher who runs on Dutch Bros and Disney!  I wear converse shoes and live to make memories. I teach my kids the time we have with our family and making memories is far more important than recording them. I don't spend my time watching my children through a camera. I spent my summer seeing family, attending college to get my masters, and traveling. It was busy and not boring. As entertaining as it was I am looking forward to getting back to school and being in my classroom. I can't wait to see all the familiar faces and see the new ones that are joining us.

My Mission

This is my 5th school year teaching special education and absolutely enjoying love it!  I was the kid who wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I always knew I wanted to work with children. I believe in the power of yet. I don't put limits on my students I simply understand they cannot doing it yet. I want all my students to have the chance to get the most out of their educational experiences. I am looking forward to teaching all the subjects including life skills. Hands on learning is my favorite way of teaching and I have found its the best way to encouraging learning. It keeps my students engaged and increases the thought proces.

As A Teacher

I Love Middle School! I love to watch the personalities blossom and I enjoy helping to mold them into the people they want to be. I have gained the experience of working with various disabilities and have seen vast amounts of improvement from all students socially and educationally. I don't want to just allow your student to grow within the classroom I want them to grow outside the classroom as well. I look to allow your student the opportunity to build relationships with their peers throughout the school. One thing I have found is that they are not the only ones learning in the classroom and I am not the only one doing the teaching. I enjoying giving my students the opportunities to teach me things they know that I do not. As their teacher I will push your students past their current ability levels to points I know they are capable of reaching. I believe in the saying "It's not that you can't do it. You just can't do it yet." I want them to grow in all levels of life that I can help with, not just in their IEP goals.
