Skills for the week will be posted on our new communication platform.
Remember to read to your child daily!
District Curriculum is 95% Core program and HMH.
Please have your child practice writing his or her name daily. You can use sidewalk chalk or finger writing in salt. As students learn letter names and sounds in our core program, please help support your child by creating flash cards for them at home. You can also use the flash cards for the sight words your child will be learning.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ― Dr. Seuss
Students will participate in letter studies during Q1. A fun activity for your child could be to highlight the letter of the week in magazines or newspapers, finding them on street signs or in their favorite book.
Sight Words: Sight words are words that we want students to be able to recognize right away. In my class, they will be called 'rainbow' words. Any sight words that will be taught that week will be listed in the newsletter on Class Dojo. Please create flashcards, place them around your house, write in sidewalk chalk, etc ...to help your child memorize these words. Read them often! If you want more ideas just message me! I am here to help.
