Mr. Ellison was born in Scotland and has been an Arizona resident for over 25 years and has taught at Cimarron Springs since 2005. His subjects of expertise are science and mathematics. Mr. Ellison teaches science using the inquiry process using numerous labs and activities. This allows the students to have hands on experiences with the content which they use to understand the world around them. In Mr. Ellison’s science class, the students will have to maintain science notebooks that will contain notes, lab data, and summaries. These notebooks become a valuable asset in the class and make up a majority of the grade.

Overall, Mr. Ellison’s class is an open lab where students discover learning through hands on application of science. He stands by the belief that mistakes are good as long as you learn from them.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Ellison is a professional artist who has created several published covers for comics and novels. His work has been sold at various conventions including Phoenix Fan Fusion (previously Phoenix ComiCon), Saboten Con, Taiyou Con, and the Game On Expo. He is a connoisseur of comics, video games, anime, and all things nerdy.
