Happening this Week!

October 9, 2017

Literacy

Reading: We have begun Lesson 9 in our Literacy textbook.

Writing: We will be focusing on sentence fluency and the friendly letter format in their job application.

Math: We will begin fractions this week. Please feel free to practice the links in the math section for this unit.

Science: We will finish our unit on renewable and non-renewable resources, ecology, and the environment.

Reading: We have begun Lesson 7 in our Literacy textbook. There will be a skills test and spelling test next Thursday, the 28th for this lesson.

Writing: We will be focusing on sentence fluency.

Math: We will begin long division this week. Please feel free to practice the links in the math section for this unit.

Science: We finish our Crayfish Lab this week and will focus on the Scientific Method. We will also begin our unit on renewable and non-renewable resources.

School News:

Bingo Night is this Thursday, Sept. 21st from 5:30-7 pm in the cafeteria.

Reading: We have begun Lesson 6 in our Literacy textbook. There will be a skills test and spelling test on Friday for this lesson.

Writing: We will be focusing on sentence fluency.

Math: We will finish Chapter 3. Please feel free to practice the links in the math section for this unit and study for the multiplication quiz on Friday.

Science: We have our Crayfish Lab this week and will focus on the Scientific Method.

Yogurtini Night is Thursday.

Science: We have begun our unit on Structures of Life. Our focus this week is on plants. We will have a plant web-quest project next week using computers.

Classroom News:

Our first Character Celebration is this Friday afternoon. Students must have the required classroom expectations met to attend.

School News

Our school fundraiser is due on Friday.

Math: We have begun Chapter 1 on Number Sense: Place Value. There will be a test this Friday to cover lessons 1 and 2. Online Game Practice: Football Math - Place Value Game

Social Studies: We will be working on mapping skills and have started a section on geography.
