If you are hoping to be a part of one of our show choirs, or concert choir, you will need to complete an audition! These are currently scheduled to take place February 25-27, 2026 after school until 5 p.m. Please note that you will not need to be there that entire time. Auditions run that late so all of our elementary students have time to get here from across the district and with different release times. Below you can find a breakdown of how auditions run, and what you should prepare.
Learning the Show Choir Dance
The first day of the audition process is only required for students hoping to be in a show choir. Every 30 minutes starting at the end of day until 4:30, we will teach a short (30-60 second) dance that students will perform in groups at their dance audition on Friday. Students are welcome to stay the entire time to practice, or leave once they have learned the dance.

Vocal Auditions for All
All students auditioning for an upper level group must complete a vocal audition. It is also strongly encouraged that students going into mixed choir audition, though it is not required. Students should prepare a 30-60 second vocal performance. This can be any song of the students' choosing, so long as it is school appropriate. Students will also be asked to match pitch and rhythm in an array of warm-up exercises, and to talk about their musical background.

Show Choir Dance Auditions
Our audition process ends with dance auditions! Students will perform, in groups of 6-8, the dance that was learned on Tuesday. Similar to the first day of our audition process, students are welcome to stay the entire time, but only need to be present long enough to audition (usually about 10-15 minutes).
