VVHS Choir Auditions

VVHS Choir Program 

Thanks so much for expressing interest in the VVHS Choir program! Here at Valley Vista, we have over 120 choir students across 5 unique ensembles. We are always looking for new faces to be a part of the VVHS choir family! Here are the ensemble options, and a little info about what these groups do: 

Mixed Choir: Entry level choir with no extracurricular expectations. Great choir for those dipping their toe in the water or wanting to experience choir at a slower pace. No vocal audition is required for this class. Just ask your counselor! 

Concert Choir: This is an advanced level ensemble that requires a vocal audition (see below). For concert choir, we focus on classical choral music, traveling to various festivals throughout the year to showcase our talents. This is a high-commitment choir! 

Show Choir (JV/Varsity also available): The majority of the program here at Valley is based around show choir. This is an ensemble that combines singing and dancing to help build phenomenal performers. Focusing on popular music styles, this choir is perfect for those who are fans of Broadway, Contemporary Pop, and everything in between! Three of the five ensembles at Valley Vista are Show Choir. We have mixed groups and an all girls group. All show choirs even get to travel to California to compete with schools from around the nation! Show choir counts as a PE credit or as an arts credit, and requires a vocal and dance audition. See below for details about auditions. 

Choir Auditions 

This year, choir auditions will be held on February 24th and 26th. Auditions are REQUIRED for any student interested in Concert Choir or Show Choir. 

Tuesday, February 24th, 2026: Come and Learn the dance for Show Choir auditions. We will teach the dance in two sessions (2:30pm, 4:30pm) 

Thursday, February 26th, 2026: Come show off the dance that you learned on Wednesday. These auditions will be small groups of 4-6 at a time. 

ALSO: Come and sing for Mr. MacDonald for your vocal audition. Select 45 seconds of a song to sing for this audition. Students must provide their own track or be able to find it on YouTube.

*ONLY vocal audition required if a student is only auditioning for Concert Choir.
