Ceramics 1-2

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of ceramic arts by exploring hand building techniques: pinch, coil and slab. Surface decoration such as glazing, staining and other techniques will be examined.

Required Materials

· Composition Notebook

· Pencils

· Plastic Grocery Bags (to keep projects covered and prevent drying).

· Glue Stick/s (to donate to class, to glue handouts in class notebook)

· 3*5 notecards

Helpful (but not required) Materials

· Cheese cloth (prevents projects from drying out over time)

· Boxes of tissue to donate to class

· Personal Apron

· Purchase starter ceramic tools (if you would like your own personal tools)
