Dwight School Seoul presents Roaring into the Future, our 2023 Career Day. An annual event designed to allow students to explore various career pathways. Our featured speakers and exhibitors will be joining us in person to share their career journies and inspire our Dwight Lions. With representatives from various industries, some of which will connect with students in the outdoor expo, this will provide our students and families with a fantastic opportunity to engage in a fun and interactive event. Dr. Eric S. Kim is a Management Scholar, Data Scientist, and Entrepreneur trained in the industry, academia, and public sectors. He is an experienced Management & Data Scientist for M&A transactions and high-growth firms with demonstrated track records in PE advisory and MNC HQ initiatives. As an entrepreneur, he is the founder and CEO of Datacrunch Global, a leading Augmented Intelligence Solution provider. Datacrunch Global's SaaS solutions are well known for innovating market-leading MNCs and global Private Equity Funds to maximize profits by supporting daily managerial decisions. As a scholar, he is a Professor at two leading universities. He is an Adjunct Professor at the School of International Studies of Hanyang University, teaching digital strategy, entrepreneurship, and econometrics. Prior to transferring to the Division of International Studies, he was an Adjunct Professor at the Business School of Hanyang University. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Business Administration of Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, teaching operations management. In his earlier career, he formerly worked as a junior economist at the Korean government's economic research arm focusing on tax policies and at Arthur Andersen and BearingPoint as a business analyst during semester breaks in college. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Engineering from KAIST and an MA and BS in Economics from the University of Missouri.
As Area General Manager, Mark has responsibility for Hilton’s operations in South Korea. He leads the hotel teams in all aspects of hotel operations, marketing, and hotel administration to guest services and satisfaction of Conrad Seoul, Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam, and the pre-opening hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton Seoul Pangyo. Mark also has the dual responsibility of General Manager of Conrad Seoul, one of South Korea's leading luxury hotels. With more than 26 years of experience in the hotel hospitality industry, Mark has accumulated experience in luxury hotels on various continents, including Europe, North America, and Asia, including Mount Juliet Conrad in Ireland, Conrad Centennial in Singapore, and Conrad Tokyo in Japan.
Especially while as general manager at Conrad Seoul for six years, Mark played a major role in establishing the Conrad brand in Korea with his knowledge of the Korean market and excellent leadership skills. His operational and commercial expertise has seen Conrad Seoul evolve into the outstanding business with a strong local presence that it is today, and with his unrivaled knowledge of the Korean market and its cultural nuances is an excellent fit for this new role to strengthen Hilton’s presence and grow footprint in this strategically important country, Korea.
Born and raised in London, United Kingdom, Jennie has built an impressive career as a journalist in South Korea. With a strong academic background, Jennie is a Ph.D. candidate in International Relations from Sogang University and holds an M.A. in Public Policy and a B.S. in International Studies from Hanyang University. Jennie began her career at Hill+ Knowlton Strategies Korea as an intern and consultant before moving to United Press International as a Seoul Correspondent for Asia, South & North Korea News. She then joined Arirang TV, where she worked as a Business Correspondent, Special Features Team Leader, and Main News Anchor, and currently serves as Senior Presidential Correspondent since 2023. Jennie's contributions to the industry have been recognized with several awards, including the 2020 Ministerial Award for Innovative Journalism and the 2019 Arirang TV Reporter of the Year Award. Outside of work, she has dedicated her time to social service and volunteer work, including supporting Myeongjin Children's Home and translating sponsorship letters for Compassion Korea and ChildFund Korea.
