My family hit the ground running once the summer break began. My sister was due to have her second daughter and my son and I were tapped to come out and help out with my adorable, and soon-to-be-famous niece Finley. I had forgotten how much energy 4 year-olds have but we quickly acclimated to the new pace and kicked off our summer bucket list straight away! Shortly after we arrived in California, my newest niece charged into the world at a whopping 10 pounds 2 ounces and stole our hearts. Here are some pics of the wee little princess. Sorry (not sorry) for all of the pics!!! #proudauntie
We spent the rest of the break aggressively pursuing the audacious goals we added to the bucket list we created at the beginning of the summer! We got in some kayaking, a Shawn Mendes concert, tons of summer flicks, karaoke, beach days, trips to farmers markets, concerts in the park, ALL of the World Cup games, visits with friends and family, and even started a weekly podcast with the Amazin' Mr. Lane the STEM Guy!
I can't get over what an incredible group of kids I get to teach this year! Their creativity and drive has been so impressive! It challenges me to see what new things I can bring to the table for them. Because of their eagerness to try new things, I was inspired to use a $500 APS grant to introduce Tello drones into our STEM class. I am SO excited to be able to bring drone technology to these kids. The drone industry has an abundance of opportunities and possibilities to explore and will definitely be a huge field for the jobs of the future!
I am so excited to be heading into the 2018-2019 school year together. I have thoroughly enjoyed soaking up my summer break. I was able to get in a long visit with my family in California in June. We made a trip to Disney, soaked up the sun at the beach and hung out with my ridiculously cute niece, Finley. My husband and I took a trip to Sedona and loved filling our days with hiking and exploring the beauty of the area. This summer we also made a huge decision to add a new furry member to our family. We adopted a very adorbale and precocious puppy named Blue. He has made the rest of our summer incredibly entertaining!
This year we welcome a brand new principal to our campus. Mr. Galietti is going to be an awesome addition to SV! We are looking forward to an amazing year with him!
