Utilizing the allowed materials ONLY, each team will construct a cardboard car that is designed to carry one passenger and be able to travel the farthest distance in the least amount of time when released from a 30 degree incline (4’ x 8’ plywood ramp).
The car must be made entirely out of cardboard (including wheels),white glue or wood glue and two (2) 7/8”or (2) 1” (suggested size) wood dowel.
Steering is optional. You may include a device to steer your vehicle. You may only use the materials on the list for steering devices. Your steering device must not be designed in such a way to add power or energy to your vehicle.
Each car MUST have a theme and be decorated accordingly.
The overall dimensions should be discussed in advanced and agreed upon by all team members. All team members must be able to explain all aspects of their design, collection of materials and construction of the car.
It needs to be LESS than 31 inches wide to fit through the door at school!
