This course will introduce students to the technical and mechanical aspects of the theatre and available technical careers. Students will draft their own designs and construct stage scenery, as well as learn to use the lighting and sound equipment for the stage.

In this class outside lab hours are required to give career-type experience. Every student must work each semester on the school productions. They will work on building crew in class, with additional time in lights, sound, costumes, makeup, and/or props. Students are responsible to make sure they have completed their hours before the final show each semester.
Safety will be a major priority in Stage production. We will be working with power tools and learning how to use them properly. Failure to comply with all safety instructions will result in removal from class. Some of the tools include (but are not limited to) table and miter saws, drills, staple and nail guns as well as a variety of hand tools.
Students will be trained and tested on the use of each power tool before being allowed to use them in class. There is also a required tool permissionslip that will be given prior to working with the tools.
Must use Pencil ONLY on all scripts
You are expected to complete all homework assignments before class the next day.
Come to class with all supplies, including your script and a charged Chromebook.
Wear closed toe shoes, Have hair tied back, and no jewlery
Absolutely no headphones at any time!
No food/gum/candy/drinks in class with the exception of water
Do not call out in class. If you have a question raise your hand
