"I look at Dandelions in a whole new light."
"This story is a new take on an old story about the most misunderstood flower in North America."
"I can hear the voice of the writer, it is warm and familiar...my aunt, my mother..."
"beautifully illustrated in an unconventional style using florescent underpainting."
"I had no idea about how dandelions grow and propagate, not to mention all the different uses for every part of the plant."
I read this book to my 5 year old daughter. She loved the story and the illustrations. Even my 3 year old son sat still and listened! At the end of the book there is an educational section on trees and the environment. It facilitated an unexpected discussion with my daughter about different types of trees in our neighbourhood and their impact on the environment. This would be an excellent resource book for a classroom. A.Phung
"I absolutely love it. The story, the pictures, the versatility of the lesson being taught." B.Watson, Teacher
A delightful book for any age. It is comprehendible for little ones and thought provoking for us “older” children. It will lend itself to many a nighttime conversation and inspire dreams that might last a lifetime. P. Nadeau, Teacher of Deaf
I like how the language of the story has not been oversimplified. Readers will learn new words while learning about spiders. The illustrations are brilliant. Looking at a single page is like watching a cartoon! Mr. D, Teacher
I look at spiders in a whole new way -- although they sure do look creepy closeup! So glad the story has a happy ending. Love the illustrations. A.DeMarchi
I thoroughly enjoyed the spider perspective and slight humour (crossing and uncrossing of legs while making a decision). This story maintains interest for all types of readers while simultaneously educating the reader about spiders in a kid-friendly way. B.Watson, Teacher
"Spiders On the Move" will turn fear into fascination for any kid who is uneasy around spiders. A fun look into the anatomy and habits of house spiders and the positive role they play in our lives. S.Carroll
"A gentle and charming story, with a fascinating natural history of our eight-legged friends and frequent housemates. A book to remind us that spiders are often useful fellow travelers, sometimes unjustly feared, but never bugs!" Pete Kloppenburg
