Share day calendar

In kindergarten, we do love to have some “show and tell,” as it helps the children learn more about their classmates as individuals and gives each child a chance to feel special. So during each child’s Star of the Week time, (s)he can choose one day to be his/her Share Day (the whole week is provided as an option so that you can choose the day that works best for your family). Below you will find the “Star of the Week” calendar. Because each student only gets one Share Day during the year, it’s OK if their share is a “biggie” such as a collection or demonstration. At some point during the “Star Week,” send in your child’s completed “All About Me” poster so that (s)he can present it to the class. This can be done at the same time as the Share, but can also be done on a different day. As your share week approaches, simply let me know which day and time works best for you.

Please reinforce with your child that only one day during the week will be used for sharing, and that the share must be safe for the entire class. Try to encourage your child to share something that will teach us more about his/her life outside of school (we really try to steer kids away from sharing pets or toys, and towards sharing something they like to do). In the past, kids have shown their paintings, karate, collections, and musical instruments! Have fun deciding what to share!
