Daily Schedule
This is what a typical day in first grade looks like! We start our day with morning bins and morning journals to wake up our brains. From there we go into community building with our morning meeting. Once our morning meeting is finished, it's time for Lexia, art, or Scholastic News! The mid morning portion of our day is focused on Math, Phonics, and Language Arts. For math, we do a combination of whole-group and small group instruction. We use Bridges as our math curriculum. During phonics, we practice spelling, writing, reading, and speaking. Our school uses Journeys as our ELA curriculum. After lunch, students come back in for some quiet reading time. The rest of the afternoon is spent focusing on other domains such as science, social studies, art, or social emotional learning. We round out our day with choice time before cleaning up, having story time, and heading home!
