Dunfermline Men's Shed

"The future is ours to make".

About our Shed

Our Shed in Dunfermline is a place of  informal learning and skill-sharing, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where local men can come together to work, play or just hang out with others.

The Workshops and Meeting Rooms are located at the Steadings within Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline. Access is through the double gates into the courtyard.  The 'Authorised Entry Only' sign on the gates is  a bit confusing and should be ignored as this refers to the Peacock Aviary (also accessed from the shared courtyard). The sign is not relevant to Shed visitors, who are always welcome.

Workshops

Our Workshops, accessed from the Steadings courtyard, operate from 12pm - 4pm on Wednesday and Thursday. We stop for a brew at 3pm, always with the good intention of getting back to the workbench in about half an hour. However, it must be said that we often don't return to the workshops as we often get waylaid chewing the fat about something technical, or sometimes just putting the world to rights, as we like to do.

Meetings

The Meeting Room, also accessed from the Steadings courtyard, is our social space used every Wednesday from 2pm until 4pm.  As well has having a space to blether about man things, we regularly host guest speakers, have seated stretching and mindfulness classes and observe demonstrations of specialist interests and hobbies. Additionally, every few weeks we hold a general knowledge /music quiz set by members that are way more switched on than me.

The Meeting Room is also home to the Music Club on Tuesdays from 1pm - 3pm and  used to hold the Photographic Workshop on Thursdays from 2pm - 4pm. There is also talk of using the adjoining large kitchen for inhouse cookery classes on Thursdays, watch this space.
