eLearning information

The Duneland School Corporation (DSC) utilizes planned asynchronous eLearning days for scheduled Election Days (in November and May) and may also use virtual-synchronous eLearning for unplanned/inclement weather days.

Indiana House Bill 1310 provides that a public school may conduct no more than three virtual student instructional days that do not meet the established requirements.  Requirements state that any eLearning days beyond three must include 50% of live (virtual) teaching.

General Information:

Teachers will work with their students to ensure that they are adequately prepared for eLearning days. Teachers will review eLearning day procedures and classroom expectations. 

Teachers will be available online during the eLearning day to answer questions or clarify assignments. Teachers will communicate specific office hours within Canvas. During office hours, teachers should be actively communicating with students and parents. Parents and students are encouraged to email and/or communicate via Canvas. Teachers will post student assignments in Canvas by 8:45 a.m. on the eLearning day.
* For synchronous (unplanned days) classes begin at 9:00 a.m. Specifics of the daily schedule
          shall include the time of live/synchronous lessons.
