Welcome to the Chesterton Music Department!
A Complete Education Includes Music.
For more than fifty years, the Chesterton Music Program has been a fixture in the life of students and the Duneland community. During that time, thousands of instrumentalists and singers have joined our Music Family, and we’ve developed a tradition of excellence which has become noted in our region and beyond. Students in grades K-12 are invited to both unleash their creative potential, and compete at high levels. Our consistent Gold, and Gold with Distinction, ratings at ISSMA drive our students to be better performers, and our wide variety of ensembles create opportunities for all to grow and express themselves.
Our program is noted for its unique musical opportunities, including performing at the Chesterton High School Madrigal Dinner (in its fifth decade), being the home of Northwest Indiana’s only competitive high school show choirs, and our exciting performance adventures to Six Flags and beyond! Excellence in traditional and commercial music have been hallmarks of our program since its inception. We take pride in the hard work and dedication of decades of student members, and strive to continue growing with the current groups.
