Lauren Cole is dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn, grow, and discover their strengths. As the Director of DCS TRAILS, she oversees after-school programming that serves more than 300 students each year, ensuring families have access to high-quality enrichment, mentoring, and social-emotional support. With over nine years of leadership within TRAILS and more than twenty-five years working with children, Lauren has shaped a program that is vibrant, inclusive, and deeply connected to the Dundee community.
Lauren brings a rich background in youth work, including years of experience managing Dundee Central School’s Extended School Day Program, operating a registered family daycare, coaching youth basketball and soccer, and serving as a camp counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Ithaca College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with concentrations in Criminal/Juvenile Justice and Gender Studies.
Creative and community-minded, Lauren’s skills span cake decorating, gardening, ELA support, arts and crafts, and youth athletics. She also has extensive experience working with students in special education and is committed to designing programs that honor the needs of every learner.
Certified in Mandated Reporting, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Girls on the Run Coaching, CPR, and as a Certified Coach, Lauren leads with empathy, structure, and a deep belief in the potential of every child. Her passion for youth development and community engagement continues to make TRAILS a warm, inspiring, and impactful place for students and families alike.

Alyssa Grizenko is dedicated to creating opportunities where children can flourish academically, socially, and creatively. As the Assistant Director for the Extended School Day program at Dundee Central School, she collaborates with staff to design engaging activities, nurture student growth, and build strong relationships with families.
Alyssa Grizenko has 15 years of experience working with children and families in educational and extracurricular settings. Alyssa spent 14 years at Camp Lamoka, overseeing youth programs, training 75+ teen and college staff, and organizing family-centered events, and has volunteered with the local kids club “Gators” for over a decade. Her areas of expertise include administration, communications (BA in Communications), and art; she is a published children’s picture book illustrator and skilled in website development and social media management. Alyssa has experience supporting ELL students and children affected by trauma, and holds certifications as a Mandated Reporter and in Youth Mental Health First Aid, with CPR and First Aid recertification in progress. She finds great joy in watching students grow throughout a TRAILS session and supporting their social-emotional development.
Sadie Babuka brings over four years of experience as an elementary school aide, working closely with students in grades K–3, combined with insight from raising her own children. She specializes in creating positive classroom environments and supporting early learners through hands-on, age-appropriate activities. Sadie is experienced in supporting students with special education needs and behavioral challenges, fostering inclusion and growth in every setting. She is CPR certified and currently completing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training. Sadie finds joy in providing children with a safe, fun environment, helping them socialize, and building strong relationships with each student.
Mercy Baley brings nine years of experience working with children to her role with TRAILS, combining creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for helping students grow. Her background spans camp counseling, tutoring, children’s ministry, and classroom teaching, along with a year of dedicated work in the TRAILS program. Known for her energetic and hands-on approach, Mercy creates an engaging environment where students can explore new skills and discover their passions.
An artist at heart, Mercy’s expertise includes math, academic support, pottery, set painting, and graphic design—skills she weaves into her lessons to make learning both fun and meaningful. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Adolescent Education and has experience supporting students with special education needs, IEP accommodations, and high behavioral needs.
Certified in Mandated Reporting, CPR, AED, and Wilderness First Aid, Mercy is dedicated to maintaining a safe, supportive environment for all students. For her, the greatest joy of TRAILS comes from “the kids—running, playing, and watching them discover new skills and hobbies.” Her warmth and creativity make her a cherished part of the Dundee community and an inspiring presence for every student she teaches.
Carla Brouwere has 13 years of experience working with students across grades 1–12 in a variety of educational settings. She has been a part of TRAILS for seven years, contributing to its growth through creativity, dedication, and a hands-on approach. Carla’s areas of expertise include cooking, gardening, crafts, and cosmetology. She has extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning and physical needs, including specialized classrooms such as 8:1:1 and 15:1:3, and serving as a 1:1 and 1:2 aide.
Carla emphasizes patience, positive redirection, and relationship-building to foster trust and student success. She holds certifications as a Mandated Reporter and in PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). Carla loves working with students, seeing their creativity flourish, and watching them grow year after year.
With over four decades of experience in education, Cindy Clark brings unmatched dedication and warmth to her work with TRAILS. Since beginning her career in 1979, she has served as an aide, assistant teacher, and classroom teacher for grades K–4, and has spent the past seven years sharing her talents through TRAILS. Cindy’s creativity shines through in every activity she leads, from cooking and crafts to athletics, music, and baton twirling.
Her compassionate approach and years of experience working with children with disabilities make her a trusted and supportive presence for all students. Certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Mandated Reporting, Food Safety, CPR, and First Aid, Cindy is committed to providing both safe and joyful learning experiences.
For Cindy, the greatest reward comes from “working with the children and seeing their accomplishments and growth.” Her kindness, patience, and passion for teaching have made her a beloved member of the TRAILS team and the Dundee community.
Sharon Crans has over a decade of experience working with children in a range of settings, including TRAILS (4 years), military daycare programs, and raising her own children. She has worked with students from pre-K through grade 8, bringing knowledge, care, and encouragement to every interaction. Sharon holds an Associate’s degree in Business and IT Network & Security and is trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid. She finds the most satisfaction in TRAILS when children learn something new or realize they can accomplish something they previously thought they couldn’t.
Enaw Elonge brings 15 years of experience working with children across all ages, from pre-K through college. Her background includes 10 years in formal education, 13 years teaching private lessons, six years as a camp counselor, and over 15 years of volunteer work. Enaw has been part of TRAILS for seven years, offering expertise in music, drama, STEAM, social-emotional learning, and arts & crafts. She was the recipient of the Tom Niederkorn Award in 2024, holds a Master’s degree, and maintains professional New York State teaching certification.
Experienced with students with special education needs, trauma histories, and in specialized classrooms (8:1:1 and 12:1:1), Enaw adapts instruction and instruments to meet diverse learning styles. She is CPR and Mandated Reporter certified, and loves creating crafts with students and seeing them outside of class.
Emily Grizenko brings eight years of experience working with children through local church ministry, seven years at Camp Lamoka in roles including counselor, coordinator, and cook, and two years with TRAILS. She has worked with students from kindergarten through grade 12, bringing creativity and warmth to every activity. Emily holds an Associate’s degree in Graphic Design and has illustrated and published two children’s books. Her artwork has earned multiple awards, including Best in Show, 1st, and 2nd place, and she was the 2025 CMAC Summer Concert Series T-shirt designer.
Emily has experience supporting English Language Learners and children affected by trauma, fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and inspired to create. She is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid. She loves interacting with students of all ages and providing fun, educational activities that encourage movement, learning, and positive engagement. Through her teaching, Emily strives to model kindness, patience, and teamwork so students can see those values in action every day.
Tanya Hubbard brings over 20 years of experience working with children in schools, childcare settings, volunteer programs, and through raising her own children. She specializes in social-emotional learning (SEL) instruction and holds a Master’s degree in Developmental and Childhood Psychology. Tanya is skilled in supporting students affected by behavioral and trauma-related challenges, emphasizing SEL growth and inclusion. She is certified in CPR, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention in Schools (TCIS), and as a Mandated Reporter. Tanya finds great joy in watching children have fun while learning and growing in TRAILS.
With over 22 years of experience in education, Rose Kane brings creativity, dedication, and a deep passion for supporting children’s growth and learning. Her background spans a wide range of educational settings—including summer recreation programs, coaching, serving as Director of the Dundee Children’s Center, and teaching Pre-K—giving her a well-rounded understanding of how to nurture students from early childhood through adolescence.
Rose has been part of the TRAILS program for nine years, where her warm and engaging teaching style continues to make a lasting impact. She holds a Master’s degree and a permanent teaching certificate for grades N–6 with a 7–9 mathematics extension. Known for her expertise in art, Pre-K curriculum development, and cheerleading, Rose brings both structure and creativity to every club she leads.
Committed to fostering inclusive, positive environments, Rose has experience supporting students with special education needs and behavior regulation. She incorporates a Responsive Classroom approach to encourage social-emotional growth and cooperation among students. Certified in Food Safety, Coaching, Mandated Reporting, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, and Mental Health First Aid, Rose combines professionalism with compassion—helping every child feel seen, supported, and inspired to learn.
Jackson Paris brings energy, leadership, and a strong passion for youth development to his role with TRAILS. With nine years of experience working with children and adolescents, he has built a solid foundation through local church ministry and nine summers at Camp Lamoka, where he served in roles including counselor and program coordinator. His primary experience is with students in grades 3–12, and he is especially skilled at building meaningful relationships that help students grow, mature, and gain confidence.
Jackson’s areas of expertise include STEM, athletics, and teaching and training, and he has extensive experience designing teamwork-based and athletic activities that promote collaboration and personal growth. He has also overseen the safe operation of a low ropes course, climbing wall, and zipline course, making hands-on learning and adventure an exciting part of his programming.
He has experience supporting students with varying behavioral and medical needs and is committed to creating inclusive, supportive environments where all students can participate and succeed. Jackson holds a Bachelor’s degree and is certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Mandated Reporting.
For Jackson, the greatest satisfaction comes from seeing growth in students’ lives. He strives to engage with students in ways that build trust, strengthen relationships, and help them develop both academically and personally. His positive presence and mentorship-focused approach make him a valuable leader within the TRAILS program.
With more than a decade of experience in education, Alicia Parkhurst brings creativity, compassion, and a love for hands-on learning to her role with TRAILS. She has worked with students from Pre-K through sixth grade as both a teacher and teaching assistant, and has been part of the TRAILS program for three years. Alicia holds a Master’s degree and is a New York State certified teacher.
Her diverse expertise includes STEM, gardening, cooking, and community service, as well as experience working in nonprofit settings. Alicia is passionate about making learning interactive and meaningful, encouraging students to explore, problem-solve, and discover their strengths.
Experienced in supporting students with special education needs, behavioral challenges, and English Language Learners (ELL), Alicia focuses on building inclusive environments where every child can succeed. Certified in Mandated Reporting, DASA, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Strategies (TCIS), she ensures her programs are both engaging and supportive.
Alicia especially enjoys seeing students light up when an activity clicks or they experience something new. This joy inspires her to think creatively and bring fresh, exciting opportunities to TRAILS each session.
With ten years of experience working with students in grades K–8, Ashley Pennington brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep commitment to fostering meaningful learning experiences. She has taught elementary school for seven years and coached both youth and varsity sports, combining her love for education with her passion for teamwork and personal growth. Ashley holds a Master’s degree and is currently completing her degree in Administration.
Her areas of expertise include Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and elementary education, and she is dedicated to creating inclusive, engaging environments where every student can thrive. Ashley has experience supporting students with special education needs, English as a New Language (ENL) learners, and those with behavioral challenges.
Certified in Responsive Classroom, Green Dot, Safe Zone, Mandated Reporting, CPR/First Aid, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Strategies (TCIS), Ashley values flexibility and creativity in her teaching. She enjoys the variety TRAILS offers—designing unique groups and activities and connecting with students across different age levels. Her energy, adaptability, and student-centered approach make her an inspiring part of the TRAILS team.
Hailey Posey has eight years of experience working with children in diverse settings, including coaching soccer for pre-K through grade 2, leading camps and classes for ages 3–12, and volunteering in children’s ministry for infancy through high school. She also managed high school volunteers at a summer camp, developing leadership and mentoring skills. Hailey’s expertise includes English Language Arts (currently completing a Bachelor’s in High School English Education), STEM (Science Olympiad and first-place science fair winner), and creative arts such as sewing and crafts.
Experienced in supporting children with special education and behavioral needs, she implements strategies like sensory tools, buddy systems, and structured transitions. Hailey enjoys helping students grow in understanding and care for themselves, peers, authority, and their environment.
Ronni Robbins brings an extensive background in education and counseling to the TRAILS program. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education from SUNY Cortland and taught 3rd grade for three years. During this time, she began her Master’s in School Counseling through Liberty University and completed internships at both the Kindergarten and middle school levels. Having completed her graduate studies, she now serves as the High School Guidance Counselor at Dundee Central School.
Ronni loves incorporating fun and engaging activities like singing, dancing, theater, and sports into her work, alongside teaching valuable social-emotional and life skills. With three seasons as a soccer coach and one as a softball coach, she’s passionate about fostering teamwork and growth. Her enthusiasm and dedication make her a wonderful part of the TRAILS team!
Simone Rosno brings warmth, creativity, and a passion for student-centered learning to her role with TRAILS. With four years of teaching experience in Pre-K, first grade, and second grade, she has developed a deep understanding of how to meet children where they are and inspire them to grow. Simone holds a Master’s degree and is a New York State certified teacher.
Her strengths lie in creating engaging, hands-on lessons that make learning fun and meaningful. With experience supporting students with special education needs and behavioral challenges, Simone emphasizes patience, flexibility, and positive reinforcement in her teaching.

Taegan Sharp brings over 15 years of experience working with young children, particularly in grades K–2. She currently teaches Kindergarten at Dundee Central School, designing interactive, hands-on lessons that foster curiosity and creativity. Her areas of expertise include Early Childhood Education, Special Education, American Sign Language (ASL), and play-based learning. Taegan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education with a minor in ASL, as well as a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
She has extensive experience supporting diverse learners, including students with developmental, behavioral, and communication needs, and integrates inclusive practices to build confidence and belonging.
