Poetry-(2 days assignment due Wednesday)- Re-read the weekly poem Joyful Time-. We will look for words with suffixes. Print/copy poem into Purple Poetry journal. Highlight words with suffixes (-ly,-ful) and illustrate a picture to go along with it.

If you finish illustrating, re-read some old poems in your poetry journal.

Writing (2 day assignment) - Listen to the video I have posted above on weekend news. You will have today and tomorrow to work on your weekend news. Using the weekend news paper, write about three things you did this weekend, making sure to include adjectives to make your writing more descriptive. Highlight the adjectives so they stand out in your story. Make sure to have an opening sentence, transitional words, closing sentence, capital letters, and punctuation.

Reading- Listen and respond to questions along with The Pearson story Henry and Mudge - castify video for a close read. Then mute video and re-read once to yourself.

Read for 10 minutes a book of your choice and log it into Reading log

Illustrate Michelle's Star Student Keep Book from last week. Re-read for fluency

Word Wall Words- We will do this in our Zoom meeting. Introduce this week’s word wall words. We usually cheer them all together. Then act them out, doing jumping jacks or playing guitar...any fun way to do movement along with spelling our words (this is routine, they should be able to explain how we do this in class) Then write them 3x’s each for practice.

Math- Log into pearsonsuccessnet.com to complete the math assignment. We are starting Topic 17. Do lesson 17 lesson 1. Please watch the video, do the guided practice and take the quiz. Don’t skip any of the parts! Do the workbook page along with lesson 17-1 .
