Funding to support Pratt recognized student groups comes from the Lord Foundation. This program is administered by the Pratt Student Affairs Office. The Engineering Alumni Council (EAC) provides feedback and alumni mentorship to support this process. Each Pratt recognized group that receives funding will be assigned an alumni mentor to connect with the Engineering Alumni Council (EAC). Your alumni mentor will be a sounding board and resource for you, and will also report back to the EAC about student teams, projects, progress, challenges, etc., throughout the year.
Please see dropdown tabs below for details regarding the FY26-27 Funding process.
The Engineering Alumni Council (EAC) gathers on campus three times per year. Pratt recognized student groups should plan to be in attendance during the January EAC meeting (January 23, 2026). This objective for this meeting is for the the EAC to:
Outline the FY26-27 Lord funding process to student groups
Connect student groups with their EAC liaison
Provide groups with the required documents and deadlines for the FY26-27 Lord funding process
All Pratt recognized student groups who apply for and who receive(d) past or future funding must present to the EAC during the Spring EAC meeting (April 18, 2026) and are expected to fulfill the following requirements:
Register with DukeGroups and adhere to all University Student Organization policies and requirements (including Next Level Leadership).
Complete the executive summary and budget proposal (even if $0) for FY26-27. Submission of these documents will allow the group to be placed on the schedule presentation.
Utilize Lord funds in alignment with their designated purposes. Group funding is subject to reallocation if not utilized within the fiscal year and/or in alignment with intended purposes.
Connect with their EAC liaison to review required documentation and presentation.
Participate in recruiting and alumni engagement events throughout the year. This includes the Pratt Activities Fair, Pratt Student Advisory Council (PSAC) meetings, and the Spring Reunions Weekend, Pratt Family & Reunion Weekends, and Blue Devil Days.
Report to the Pratt Undergraduate Student Affairs office with group updates, outreach efforts, goals, events and alumni involvement semesterly.
Present and report to the EAC the following spring to detail how the funds were used, regardless of whether the group is seeking funding for the subsequent fiscal year.
Pratt student groups funded through the LORD Foundation should pursue funding from a wide variety of additional sources and utilize resources both on and off campus to meet their goals. The list below includes additional funding resources.
