Who can participate? Any Pratt recognized group listed on the website.
Submission Deadline: 10pm ET, Monday, February 2nd, 2025.

Judging, Prizes, and distribution: Submissions will be judged by members of our distinguished Engineering Alumni Council! Winners will be determined based on submissions that best showcase the group. Winners will be announced during National Engineers Week (Feb 22-28, 2026). The best entries will be shared with the Pratt community through Pratt’s website and social media accounts.

Best Video Reqs 🎥 - $500
VIDEO - one video file which MUST:
a. Be produced by and feature members of the organization
b. Show the organization in action (tips for filming yourself here)
c. Detail the organization’s projects, goals and achievements
d. Not exceed 2 minutes in length
e. Be submitted in .mp4 or .mov formats
f. Have a useful filename that includes the name (or acronym) of the organization
*The video MAY also show how the Engineering Alumni Council has aided the group and/or provide reason why students should join the group.
Best Photo Reqs 📸 - $200
PHOTOS - At least three(3) but no more than five (5) image files which MUST:
a. Show the organization in action
b. Be as high-resolution as possible
c. Be submitted in .jpg or .png formats
d. Have useful filenames that include the name (or acronym) of the organization
e. Include photo captions and/or a word doc with captions
Best Top 5 List Reqs 🏆 - $200
TOP 5 LIST - One written list entitled: “The Top 5 Reasons to Join Our Organization” which MUST:
a. Be a numbered list of reasons to join the group, not to exceed 500 words total
b. Reasons do not need to be complete sentences
c. Be submitted in .docx format
d. Have a useful filename that includes the name (or acronym) of the organization
1. Organizations are free to submit entries in as many categories as its members choose, with one contest entry maximum per student organization per category.
2. Any professional or paid assistance of any kind is strictly prohibited. All submitted material must be the original product of members of the student organization
3. No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc. that are owned by others) may be used
4. Production and content must comply at all times with the Duke Community Standard and all applicable local, state and national laws.
5. All contest entries become property of Duke University to freely use forever. In particular, entries may be used in Duke Engineering online and print media for promotional purposes.
6. Free Duke resources include (a) the LINK in Perkins Library for borrowing media equipment such as video cameras, tripod, shotgun mic and/or sambal camera stabilizer, (b) Multimedia Project Studio in Bostock Library to access tools for photo editing, video editing and graphics design and (c) tips for filming yourself.
7. Contest winners will have funding deposited into their Pratt account.
The Pratt Office of Student Affairs is offering a 'call for proposals' to Pratt recognized student groups. See details below:
The proposal should request smaller ticket items (up to $500) that could improve operations and/or member relations within a group. 'Smaller ticket items' include printing costs, social events, food at a general body meeting, event supplies, etc. The proposals are not meant for large group travel requests, individual student projects, or items that exceed $500.
Proposals are due Friday, February 28th. Please allow at least one week for review/decision.
