The Stage Management team is the student team that runs the show, literally!
This team is responsible for:
Attending all rehearsals starting in February and taking blocking notes.
Keeping track of sound and lighting cues.
Writing down any set, costume, or prop needs.
Meeting with the director, backstage director, tech director and design team for production meetings and to set tech cues.
Acting as a liaison between cast and crew members
Working with the director to coordinate attendance, check conflicts and make phone calls/send texts or emails as needed.
Helping to arrange and store rehearsal props and set pieces.
Calling all cues for the show-no lighting, sound, or set changes happen without you!
Current seventh and eighth graders are welcome to apply for stage management positions.
Assistant Stage Managers work with the Stage Managers to run one half of the backstage. They are responsible for:
Attending all rehearsals starting in February and taking blocking notes.
Keeping track of sound and lighting cues.
Writing down any set, costume, or prop needs.
Helping to arrange and store rehearsal props and set pieces.
Managing either stage right or stage left and passing on all cues from the stage managers to the teams there.
Current seventh and eighth graders are welcome to apply for stage management positions
Backstage Crew will work under the direction of the Stage Managers. They:
Move set pieces on and off the stage
Manage set and props
Help the actors as needed
Help keep the backstage quiet and safe
Backstage Crew is open to all grade levels.
Set and Costume Design work under the direction of the Director and Backstage Director.
Set designers are responsible for:
Building new set pieces and adapting current set pieces
Designing set pieces that reflect the current show
Painting set pieces
Costume designers are in charge of:
Organize and assign costume pieces to actors
Create additional costumes/accessories as needed
Current seventh and eighth graders are welcome to apply for management of these teams. Current sixth graders may be considered with teacher recommendation.
Information about joining Crew will be available on grade level Google Classrooms in December. After information has been posted, specific questions should be emailed to Mrs. Park.
