Matches:
Length: 9 holes; after school. Usually a match takes approximately 3-3.5 hours from tee off until all players are finished.
Transportation: Parents/Guardians must provide transportation. We will set up a carpool to transport players from school to the matches.
Arrival: Players should arrive 30 minutes before tee time.
Team Composition: 6 players play in the match. The top 4 scores out of the 6 count as the team score total for the match. The roster for each match will be selected based on average scores, skill level of the team(s) we are playing, along with skill level & experience of teammates.
Exhibition Players: For some matches, 2 or more additional individuals are permitted to play in the match as a practice round. Their scores do not count in the match but do count in their individual overall average.
Competition: We play primarily dual matches.
Spectators: Family and friends are permitted to watch but are not permitted to provide personal advice such as swing tips, reading the green, what club to hit, etc. Spectators can help find golf balls and address rules questions. Some golf courses allow spectators to use golf carts for a minimal fee. Please inquire at the pro shop, if desired.
After School Snacks: Athletes are responsible for bringing a snack to eat on the way to the matches and team lessons.
Post Game Snacks: Parents/Guardians may sign up to bring a snack for our athletes for after the matches.
Communication:
Final Forms: I will use Final Forms as our primary source of information.
Team Snap: We will also use TeamSnap app, especially for communication during matches, if needed.
Apps:
Team Snap: All parents and athletes need to join our team's Team Snap. This is a helpful form of communication.
18Birdies: Athletes should get this app and join our community by sharing your information with Coach Beekman at email address: kmsboysgolf@gmail.com.
Golf Rules:
Prior to tryouts, players must have a general understanding of USGA Rules

A quick online questionnaire/test will be shared over the summer.
Players need to fill out the test and submit it prior to tryouts. Players may use the USGA rule book, internet, and work together to fill it out. Each player must fill it out prior to tryouts.
