In Dublin City Schools, we believe that all students deserve a mathematical learning experience centered around communication, collaboration, thinking and problem solving.
Semester 1
Introduce multiplication, fractions & decimals. Take place value, addition & subtraction to mastery.
Semester 2
Develop geometry, measurement, and data. Extend Multiplication & Division, as well as extend Fractions & Decimals to mastery.
A K-12 Dublin City Schools science education engages all students in critical thinking and problem solving as they experience science and engineering. We believe that students can become scientifically literate citizens equipped with the knowledge and skills demanded by the ever-changing future, whether in the workforce or higher education.
4th Grade Units: Changes in landforms and matter, energy and environment changes, and fossils and changes to the earth's surface.
The Dublin City Schools K-12 Social Studies educational experience will allow students to see how social studies can be integrated into different disciplines and is relevant to many aspects of life. There is a greater emphasis on problem based/inquiry learning rather than just the memorization of historic dates, people, and events with a focus on the connections between current events and the past in order to solidify relevancy for students.
4th Grade: Foundations of U.S. History are laid as students study prehistoric Ohio cultures, early American life, the U.S. Constitution, and the development and growth of Ohio and the United States. Students begin to understand how ideas and events from the past have shaped Ohio and the United States today.
The components of the workshop involve mini-lessons, guided/shared/independent practice, and reflection. Read aloud will also be an important part of reading workshop.

Word Study (spelling and vocabulary) is an integral part of the Dublin Literacy Workshop Model and implied across the Language Arts Standards. All students will learn to spell within the context of meaningful reading and writing experiences.
