The external assessment is given to Year 2 students only. The purpose of the assessment is to determine the student's understanding of the content as well as their ability to apply their understanding to new situations. It is vital to gain an understanding of how the content can be applied and how data can be explained through chemical concepts in order to be successful on the external assessment.
The dates for the 2026 External Assessment are:
Paper 1: Friday, May 15, afternoon session (2 hrs)
Paper 2: Monday, May 18, morning session (2 hrs 30 mins)
