Dublin Jerome High School Clubs
Chess club allows students to develop an affinity for logic, calculation, and creativity, while also providing a casual environment to play games. Chess club will host meetings twice per month, in which club members will be able to learn how to play chess through our magnificent instructors. We will also be offering opportunities to participate in chess tournaments throughout the state and represent Jerome.
Esports are competitive video games that are played as a team. Competitive play is based on an 8-week, 2-season (Fall & Spring), schedule. Competitive games are based on player interest and are established after the first mandatory meeting, pending availability.
We are a group of students that meet together to have ethical discussions, learn more about current events, and explore moral principles and ethics. We also partake in the Ethics Bowl, a prestigious event that allows students to showcase their abilities to analyze real world ethical situations on a statewide and national level. Additionally, the Ethics Bowl is competitive but also gives students the opportunity to collaborate based on real-life ethical situations
FBLA High School helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs.
Fencing is one of the Olympic disciplines, where participants compete as individuals, while enjoying the benefits of "One for All, and All for One" team spirit. Participation is open to all Dublin high school (Coffman, Jerome, and Scioto) students. Club members are expected to participate regularly in weekly practices, and compete in a number of Youth and Cadet tournaments, sanctioned by the US Fencing Association (USFA).
Students choose historical topics related to a theme and conduct primary and secondary research. After analyzing and interpreting their sources and drawing conclusions about their topics’ significance in history, students present their work in original papers, websites, exhibits, performances and documentaries. Students then have the opportunity to compete in district, state, and national competitions each year.
HOSA is a club for students interested in advancing their knowledge in a healthcare related field. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition in health science education and biomedical science programs or have interests in pursuing careers in health professions. Students can choose to participate in team competitions, individual testing competitions, or skill competitions.
In Linguistics Club we learn about how languages work, how they develop, and how they are used as we prepare for NACLO (the annual North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad competition) held in January. During meetings, we will either focus on the central topic within linguistics or practice for competition with a fun puzzle.
If you want to become a lawyer or just improve your public speaking, this club is for you. Teams consist of 8 people: 4 on Defense and 4 on Plaintiff. Each team has 2 attorneys and 2 witnesses that portray a piece of a real court case in front of real judges. Tryouts are required to become part of a team.
Model UN is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and its other multilateral bodies where students perform an ambassador role while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more.
Have fun with friends answering common knowledge trivia or compete against other schools in various specialties - we have a place for everyone! (You get to use Jeopardy style buzzers)
We are a group of students who, as the name suggests, give speeches and debate! Speech, depending on your chosen category, is similar to giving a TED talk or performing in a play (with only a couple people watching) and debate is comparable to a presidential nominee debate.
We are a diverse group of Jerome students who are passionate about the power of creative writing. We meet regularly, after school, with other members and coach to write, critique, inspire, and support each other’s voice. Students have the option to compete in various regional, state, and national writing competitions.
