A PERSON WITH DISABILITIES (PWD) is someone who has a physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairment that may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines disability as a complex phenomenon, reflecting the interaction between an individual’s health condition and their environment.
Legislation:The Magna Carta for Disabled Persons (Republic Act No. 7277) and its amendments ensure the rights and welfare of PWDs.
