“Movida” is a chavacano term that loosely translates to “movement” or “motion”. MobIDA was used to encapsulate the focus of a good practice submitted to SWIDB and as PRAISE nominee for Best KM Initiative in CY 2022. It puts emphasis on the 2 main elements highlighted therein: (1) the use of Knowledge Sharing Sessions and (2) the various technical support staff from many disciplines as catalysts to continuous improvement. The practice summarizes the benefits of optimizing these 2 cogs within the Quality Management Structure. We put quotation marks on the term special concern to highlight how these INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT activities and programs are, at times, put in the background as OPERATIONAL concerns become more urgent and overwhelming. These vital components to improve Program Management and Service Delivery are viewed as “other related tasks” or tasks “ON TOP OF” important deliverables.
Taking from the Four Disciplines of Execution, these seemingly urgent and important deliverables are “whirlwinds”, where the “Wildly Important Goals (WIGs)” or strategic objectives are, at times, lost in. This initiative aims to engage technical and support staff in peer learning and knowledge sharing as they take a step back before looking at the state of their programs and services, with fresh eyes, and with colleagues of different disciplines and perspectives.
Information is everywhere. Its application to transform data to knowledge can come from anywhere. MobIDA encourages recognition and celebrations of these knowledge products through Knowledge Sharing Sessions.
The Field Office joined CO in the pursuit of Quality Management. This common goal encouraged collaboration to ensure compliance on top of deliverables in service delivery and program implementation.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, as well as teams, contribute largely to ensure that further improvements are based on sound and well-informed analyses that are client-focused. The goals is to re establish this community for a stronger Field Office that improves based on evidence, aligned to the DSWD VMG.
Since advocating collaborative tools, to include Google Apps, the Field Office pursued projects to optimize these tech products to improve workplace productivity. Since then, various documents have been moved into the digital platform to include WFP/PPMP, Administrative Support Services, Financial Management Division references and reports, among others.
