Online Resources

The online resource ixl.com is a supplementary tool used to help students practice the current skills being taught, as well as, to practice past skills to help retain previous concepts.

The ixl assignments are generally assigned to start in class and finish on their own. Plenty of time is given to complete the assignments. If a student is having difficulty achieving the "Smartscore" (usually 80), the student should ask for help. I do not expect students to spend an excessive amount of time on this supplementary assignment.

My goal is to help students fully understand the material, not assign a frustrating assignment. Since there is generally plenty of time to complete the assignment, I encourage them to get the lessons completed early.

I use this site to allow students to practice content taught in class. I provide a link on the google classroom under the Homework section. When I use this site in class for practice, I provide a code for students to join a specific review game during class. Students may also go to quizizz.com and search topics they need to practice and complete reviews on their own.

The site provides reviews for many subjects other than math, therefore students may use the site to find reviews for other classes. Students can sign in using their school google account.
