2/1/20 - Congratulations to Our 7th Grade Girls' Basketball Team!

The won BOTH the League Championship (10-0) and the Division One Play-Offs, defeating WVW and Lake Lehman, the weekend of February 1, 2020. OUTSTANDING!

12/6/19 - 12/7/19 - Marywood Junior Wind Band Celebration

On Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, students from Dallas Middle and High Schools in grades 7, 8, and 9 participated in Marywood Junior Wind Band Celebration, an honors ensemble composed of director-recommended students from over 30 different schools. Students auditioned for three ensembles, rehearsed all day Friday, all day on Saturday, and performed a concert on Saturday evening.

4/19/19 - PennCFL Stock Market Challenge

Congratulations to the students who took part in the Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy (PennCFL) Stock Market Challenge sponsored by Fidelity Bank. The online investment game ran from February 11th to April 19th. The students were given a virtual $100,000 to invest over a 10-week span. Their goal was to invest well, compete against others, and grow the best return for their investments. They competed against other middle school students in Luzerne County. There were 345 students who competed in the Spring Challenge. Dallas Middle School had 5 students place in the Top 10! We also had one middle school student compete at the High School level and place first!

What a great learning experience whether you placed first or last!

3/26/19 - Luzerne County Band

3/14/19 - Drama Club

The DMS Drama Club presented Beauty and the Beast Jr. on Thursday, March 14, 2019. Over 120 students were involved in the production. They have been working since September to put the show together. The show is partially directed by students. Student officers include: Peter Federici, Carolyne Wintersteen, Sarah Hastings, Gunnar Grebeck, Madi Fostock, Zoe Yonkoski, Cassie Elgonitis, Dominick Fazzino, Hannah Letwinsky, Chelcie Strobel, Sean Dolan, Zach Crahall, Eddie Maier, Drey Ogurkis, Emily Dautrich, and Victoria Spaciano.

3/6/19 - Science Olympiad

The Middle School Science Olympiad team competed in the regional competition on Wednesday, March 6, at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. The team placed third out of 17 teams and also had nine individual placings. It was a good day. The team will be traveling to Juniata College in April to compete in the State level competition. Science Olympiad 2019

2/3/19 - Thomas Rokita Memorial 7th & 8th Grade Girls' Basketball League Championships

On Sunday, 2/3/19, the Dallas Middle School 7th and 8th grade girls' basketball teams competed in the Thomas Rokita Memorial Girls' 7th and 8th Grade Basketball League Championships. The 7th grade team won the 7th Grade Division 1 Championship Game, beating Lake Lehman 32 - 14. Congratulations!

11/30/18 - 12/1/18 - Marywood Junior Wind Band Celebration

On Friday, 11/30/18, and Saturday, 12/1/18, select 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students from Dallas Middle and High School participated in Marywood's Junior Wind Band Celebration. Students from 52 schools came together on Friday morning to audition, and spent all day Friday rehearsing. They returned for more rehearsal on Saturday morning and afternoon, before performing for a standing room only crowd that evening in Marywood University's Sette LaVerghetta Performing Arts Center.

10/12/18 - Pink Out Day

Recently, the Dallas Middle School held a “Pink Out Day” for breast cancer awareness. Students and staff wore various shades of pink; however, for many of the students, pink is more than just a color. It represents a sign of hope and a battle cancer patients have to fight. Dallas Middle School Student Council decided to raise money to support Candy’s Place. Candy’s Place is a non-profit organization that provides support and services for all cancer patients and their loved ones in a loving and safe environment. Candy's Place was chosen as the charity because several students' parents and a former teacher have survived cancer with the support and care offered there. A total of $1,031.55 was raised and a check was delivered to Candy's Place. The staff of Candy's Place was very grateful.

4/20/2018 - Last Dance

3/22/2018 & 3/23/2018 - Lion King Jr.

Pictured below are the cast and crew of the 2017-2018 DMS Drama Club, who presented the musical Lion King Jr. for public audiences on the evenings of March 22 and 23, 2018. These talented students also performed for their peers during a morning assembly on March 23, and to the delight of both Dallas Elementary & Wycallis Elementary students during assemblies on March 22 and 23.

2017-2018 Science Olympiad

Pictured are the members of the 2017-2018 Science Olympiad team, who participated in the Pennsylvania Regional Science Olympiad Tournament on March 9, 2018, at Penn State Lehman. The team won two 1st Place medals, and three medals each in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Places. The team placed 3rd overall, achieving an invitation to the Pennsylvania State Science Olympiad tournament, which will be held on April 28, 2018, at Juniata College.

11/17/2017 - Thanksgiving Food Drive

Pictured are members of the Student Council who assisted Mrs. Rakowski with this year's Thanksgiving Food Drive. Dallas Middle School students donated 6,202 pounds of food to the Back Mountain Food Pantry.

10/13/17 - Back to School Dance Costume Contest Winners

The Costume Contest was held at the October 13th dance, and winners were announced at about 8:00 PM.

8/31/17 - 6th Grade Orientation & BBQ

The 6th Grade Orientation & BBQ took place on August 31, 2017. Pictured below are members of the 2017-18 Student Council, Student Council Advisor Mrs. Rakowski, and parents who helped grill and serve hot dogs to our new 6th grade students and their parents.

2016-2017 Regional Science Olympiad

On Wednesday, March 8, the 2016-2017 Dallas Middle School Science Olympiad Team traveled to Penn State Lehman to compete in the regional Science Olympiad. The team started practicing for the event in September of 2016. The team is made of 15 students; 3 ninth graders and the 12 students from the middle school. The team competed in 22 events throughout the course of the day. Of the 22 events, the Dallas Middle School placed 4th or better in 13 events. That is a new school record! The team also placed 3rd in the Northeast region. The team has qualified to compete in the State Level event that will be held on April 29 on the campus of Juniata College. Congratulations and Good Luck to the Middle School Science Olympiad Team. The Dallas Middle School Science Olympiad Team is coached by teachers Christie Meyers and Dan Flynn and volunteer Audrey Ide. Special thanks to Audrey Ide for countless hours and expertise that she has donated over the last six months.
