Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Do I need to send in an excuse when my child is absent?
By law, you are required to send an excuse for your child's absence to be considered excused.
Can my child send in treats for a birthday celebration?
You may send in treats. However, please refer to the school's wellness policy. Food may not be shared in school. Pencils, stickers, small toys are great ideas for a birthday non-food treat.
Does my child's homework need to be signed?
I would love it if homework is signed so that I know that you are reviewing your child's work, however it is not mandatory. The homework sheet should be signed nightly.
Can I get my child's work before an absence from school for a vacation?
I do not give the work that will be missed. Your child will be required to make up any missed work upon their return to school. I do give the children a vacation journal that they can complete and then share with their classmates to share their adventures.
Can I send a snack to school?
We will have a daily snack time. Please make sure the snack is something healthy and easy to eat. No messy snacks please. Water bottles can also be brought to school filled with only water.
