Stella’s favourite musical is Mean Girls but she loves a lot of shows, including Les Mis which she is so excited to be stage managing this year. Her favourite thing about stage managing is getting to watch the show come together and see all the hard work that everyone puts in everyday. She would like to thank Mr. Baker and Mr. A for giving her this opportunity and helping her along the way!
Jenny Aikenhead is a lover of all things musical, participating in theatre in a range of roles from an audience member to stage managing. Jenny is thrilled to be working in the Les Miserables crew as an Assistant Stage Manager and is extremely grateful to the Laura Secord Arts teachers for creating a space where arts students can thrive.
Anna’s been a fan of theatre for as long as she can remember, Hamilton standing out as being being as one of the first musicals she fell in love with. She’s so grateful to be able to watch as this musical comes to life on the Secord stage. Being able to help work on this production with such an amazing group of people has been a highlight of her senior year. She would like to thank the arts teachers at Secord for all the hard work they have put towards this musical and giving her the opportunity to be apart of this years stage management team.
Mira's favorite musical is Falsettos for it's emotional story and complex characters. Mira is glad to step up to the role of technical director this year, as she is very tech-savvy, and has been on the lighting crew for Laura Secord's past productions. Mira would like to thank Mr. Harrington for always helping out when there are technical issues with the lighting system.
Bella's favourite musical is a concept album called Epic: The Musical because it follows one of their favourite topics - Greek Mythology. Bella is excited to be a part of Secord's production to learn more about tech and possible future careers. They would like to thank Mira for sharing knowledge of the world of technical direction.
Madden Willard’s favourite musical was The Lion King with all of the amazing costumes and music around such a nostalgic movie! Madden is very happy to be a choreographer in Laura Secord’s musical production ‘Les Mis’ because she’s been amazed by the how the school comes together to create a production from previous years and shows she’s seen growing up. With a long dance background growing up and to this day, she’s more than grateful to be apart of the theatre family this year!
Havana Medhurst says her favourite musical is Back to The Future because I’m the amazing use of creative costumes, set design, and overall visual effects. She has had so much fun working with other students at Laura Secord and sharing her creativity through dance. She feels that each dance number in the show represents how hard both cast members and behind the scenes choreographers work together to bring this show to life.
Reilly’s musical is between Heathers for its BOMB soundtrack and Hamilton for the choreography and talented OG actors. She’s happy to offer help as Dance Captain for the show and to see this show come to life. Reilly wants to thank Ms. Sacco for all the opportunities and support Ms. Sacco has given Reilly throughout high school.
