The 3D printer is up and running! Our first project was a miniature version of the school. All of the grades will be working with the classroom teachers, Mrs. Napoli, and me to create something that intergrates with their units of study.
We are excited about the 2018 - 20198 school year. The computer lab is being transformed into a flexible learning space that will accommodate all student's learning styles. We are also excited to have added a 3-D printer to the space!
All of our teachers have been trained to use the G-Suite tools. We also have access to many websites and programs to integrate technology into daily lessons. Technology is used to enhance learning allowing the teachers to differentiate and customize lessons for the students.
The Pre-K come to the Media Center Lab weekly to use iPads and Chromebooks. The iPads allow for students to move about the room learning letters, numbers, shapes, patterns and much more to support their classroom instruction. Part of the time the students use the Chromebooks learning how to open programs, use a mouse, and more!
Our Kindergarten and 1st grade classes have access to the iPads as well as the Media Center Lab. Teachers can use the iPads in small groups for learning centers or for the whole class thanks to our cart of iPads.
Grades 2 - 5 use our Chromebook carts. There are several assigned to each grade so that the students are working 1:1 in the class. Our 6 - 8 grade students are assigned their own Chromebook to take home. Teachers can use the G-Suite of tools for collaboration and immediate feedback. Since Google Tools are cloud based, the students can continue their work at home if necessary. Teachers can also monitor the assignment after school and be in contact with the students through email, Google Classroom, or directly in an assignment.
