Hello Everyone!
I would like to take a moment and acknowledge the students at Beckwith Middle School. Despite being faced with numerous challenges in the recent past, you have shown incredible resilience, creativity, and effort that is nothing short of amazing. Innovation, patience, and perseverance are such important qualities not just for creating art, but in everyday life. It is my hope to once again present you with a variety of options that will spark your creative thinking and encourage discovery and problem solving. I encourage you all to experiment and DO NOT be afraid to make mistakes! Remember sometimes mistakes lead to awesome creative discovery! :)
It is the belief that by allowing students to choose art projects/assignments based on individual needs and interests, there will be increased achievement as you take more ownership of your education. We will work from both observation and imagination and experiment with multiple mediums and techniques.
I know that once again you will continue to surprise me (and perhaps even yourselves) with creative ideas that make us all unique. As always, I look forward to seeing what your imaginations dream up. Let’s create a fun-filled, innovative and positive atmosphere together this year!
