Modules and learning

The TY Timetable combines core academic subjects with short courses designed to broaden horizons and develop life and career skills.

There is a wide selection, 44 in total, designed to; 

• Sample a Senior Cycle subject and help prepare for Leaving Certificate subject choice 

• Develop academic skills ( eg research, analysis, essay writing, scientic inquiry )

• Pursue a new area of learning not yet covered

• Develop life skills 

• Develop career skills

• Explore creativity 

• Enhance civic and community engagement

• Support wellbeing, resiliance and leadership

• Develop IT and Digital Literacy skills

• Build digital citizenship skills to use technology responsibly in and out of the classroom 

• Each of these subjects and courses  are designed to support  the TY student dimensions of Personal Growth, Being a learner, Civic and Community Engagement, Career Exploration

As with everything in Transition year the more you put into these courses the more you will get out of it.
