Visual Arts Composition II

But is it Art?

I think art is a message. People can express how they feel in many different ways and one of those ways is art. When people are using art or making it they are giving you a message. Just like how a book can have a theme where it's teaching you a lesson. I believe art is very meaningful. For example, Vincent Van Gogh created a masterpiece named "The Drawings." I believe the depiction is showing a farm because of it's different characteristics and thoughts put into it. Another example can be subjects like history. Pictures or drawings can be made in modern or historical day to show what has happened in the past. A drawing or picture of Rosie the Riveter shows the persuasive influence of women to get into the workforce during World War II. In Conclusion, I believe art is a message that can be very meaningful and have lots of impacts on people in the world.

In this assignment, we worked on creating motion with shapes and the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is a guideline that shows what proportion is greater in your image. It also helps to bring the focal point out.

In this assignment, we worked on creating our own pallets with color. I chose different patterns such as Summer, Skittles, Camo, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Autumm/Fall

Experimenting with texture and patterns

In this assignment, I analyzed Van Gogh's The Drawings and created texture and pattern images in relation to it. After we made the images, we tried our best to copy the Van Gogh drawing to see how we could compare our artistic drawing of the Van Gogh to the actual Van Gogh.

Cultural and historical contexts have shaped scientific discoveries in making the period table by being able to define a chemical element, a naming system for the discovery of new elements, and a way where the elements are organized and better understood. One person that contributed to the period table was Dmitri Mendeleev who was a Russian chemist and inventor. Another person was from Antoine Lavoisier was a French nobleman and chemist. There was also John Dalton who was an English chemist and physicist. There was a German chemist, Johann Dobereiner who attempted to sort the elements into groups of threes. Lastly, there was John Newlands who introduced his law of octaves. I believe if the period table was from different people of different parts of the world, the periodic table would be changed when it was developed.

Airplane Lab

The objective of this assignment was to use the scientific method to see if adding mass to an airplane, shortened or increased its distance. My hypothesis claims: The increased mass of a paper airplane shortens its distance. Our results were a decrease in distance, so my my hypothesis was correct.

Element Art

In this assignment we chose an element and did research about the element. I chose Ytterbium and found that is was in the mineral Monazite. So, I drew a picture of a crystal and colored it in. I also had to include my element's atomic number, it's the number on the periodic table, and it's name.

Food Desert Video

In this assignment, we researched about food deserts to learn more about them. We found some data about them and thought about some solutions to food deserts. This video talks about what a food desert is, our research, and solutions to fixing them.

Group Contract & G.R.A.P.E.S - 8/28-29

In this assignment, we started our Shaping Our World project. We used the G.R.A.P.E.S method to plan how our project would and go. Lastly, we did a contract on what responsibilities and what we will effectively complete for our agreement as a group.

Today my group and I worked on our plot diagram. We worked with Ancient China and detailed each section of the plot diagram together. Lastly, we gave roles to each person and figured our our formatting for our play.

This document is our final script for our play. Our play/script is about the major turning points of Ancient China and which dynasty conquered all in the end.

Today my group and I wrote about our final script. We looked at the different types of characterization we have and revised any grammer errors that we had.

Today my group and rehearsed our script to get ready for the film making. We practiced our lines, actions, and making sure what we want our audience to know and feel.

Today my group and I read our script in front of the class and we also listened to the other groups do their scripts. This is the form for our feedback on the table reads. For our feedback, we need to make the scene changes more clearer, and we need to organize better and fix our grammar. I believe others did well also, but they just have to work on some grammar also.

Dad's garage acting class(Summary of today's work) - 9/17-18

Today we had two guest speakers to come teach us about improvisation. One game we experienced was "That's Right Bob." This game was when a few students had to have a news reporter conversation using Improv.

Today we worked our costume list and our PBL Showcase flyer. This helped us to prepare for our filming and what we were going to wear for the role we played.

Summary of Today's work - 9/23 - 10/4

Today we worked with our groups to start recording our script. We first got our items together and we chose the locations that we were going to go. After we put on the outfits and then started recording. Today my group and I only recorded scene 2.

Summary of Today's work 10/7-11

Today with our groups as our last day of recording out Ancient China production. We went to the practice gym and finished the last scene. I believe we effectively got the work done and I'm proud of the work we completed.

Today, we worked on completing the Recipe Card and Slides for the PBL showcase on 1/16/25. My group and I are making a Peach de Cream Donut. We coordinated on whose house we are going to and what each ingredient we will buy for our recipe.

What is the significance of Elie and his father lying about their ages? How does this help them survive?

The significance of Elie and his father lying about their ages is to survive. The soldiers were out to kill Jews who were too young and too old. So, Elie and his father lying helps their survival because it shows that they are a well-rounded age and won't become persecuted because of their age. The disadvantage is that it sends a message to the soldiers, so Elie and his father will have to continue working for a long period because they're at an age where they have most of their strength. However, this does increase their survival chance because they will have more years of age to go before becoming persecuted, so it contributes to a longer time to escape.

How does Elie's view of faith and God begin to change in this chapter?

Elie's view of faith and God begin to change in this chapter because of the horrific things Elie views and sees. Elie begins to question God and the existence of God based on the circumstance they are currently in. Elie sees babies and young children thrown into the crematoria and it deteriorates Elie's relationship with God. Elie starts to not believe in the prayer of God and just believe in survival with his father. Lastly, this also changes the mood of Elie. For example, Elie's father was slapped by a "Gypsy Kapo" inmate and it wanted Elie to retaliate against the inmate because that's his father and his father was just asking about the bathroom.
