Final Project
1. What was the intended function of your box and how does the design contribute to the function?
The box was designed to hold personal items. Its sturdy build and 3D-printed parts make it strong and reliable for protecting things inside.
2. Describe how it is meeting the functional goals.
It meets the goal because it safely stores my items, keeps them from getting damaged, and is easy to open and close.
3. Describe how your form contributes to the overall function.
The form helps protect the contents inside. The strong wood, stain, and lid all work together to keep things safe.
4. Describe one thing you are most proud of about the box itself.
I’m most proud of how the design turned out. The black stain with red stripes and graffiti-style “A” for Atlanta shows personality and reminds me of the city’s street art. Also, Brandon P helped with the 3D printing, and I’m thankful for that teamwork.
5. Describe one thing about your physical box you would improve on if you could do it again.
If I could do it again, I would choose a lighter stain so the details of the design would stand out more.
6. What is one challenge you faced while doing this project that you were able to overcome and how did you overcome it?
One challenge was trying to figure out the 3D printing part. I overcame it by asking for help and practicing until I understood how to use it better.
7. What is one skill that you learned so well in this project that you would feel comfortable teaching it to another student?
I learned how to use the light box really well. I could definitely teach someone else how to set it up and use it.
8. Even though everyone ended with their own project, how did teamwork/collaboration play a role in this project?
Teamwork played a big role. For example, Brandon P helped me with 3D printing, and other classmates gave me feedback on the design. That support made my project better and helped me learn new skills.
