Our final was to create a stained glass painting. We would sketch out an idea then put it on glass and paint it. Our inspiration was other peoples' stained glass and we had also wanted to do a sunset. So we ended up making a sunset set up and then adding in shapes to make it more stained glass like. The 3 elements of art we used are shape, line, and color. For shape we used a parallelogram, 14 rectangles, 6 rhombuses, 3 pairs of congruent triangles 5 semi-circles, an obtuse triangle, and 6 squares. We used line to create the shapes and design of the stain glass. We used color to make the shapes stand out and used bright colors such as yellow, pink, and green. The 3 elements of design we used are pattern, variety, and balance. We used pattern when we repeated shapes such as rectangles, triangles, or semi-circles. We used variety by using a bunch of different shapes and not using the same shapes over and over again. We also had added the semi-circle ourselves. We used radial balance, which is when all the elements are arranged around central point, we used the sun as out central point and arranged all of the shapes around it. This final was connected to the proofs we learned about in class because we used proofs to verify that the shapes we used abided to it's properties. We had to take into account that for parallelograms opposite sides are congruent and that opposite angles are congruent.
