We received a request from the Athletic Department to design some logos that could potentially become magnets, stickers, etc. We were tasked with coming up with five unique different designs for each of the 5 graphics. We had a 9x8 sticker sheet and only a limited amount of shapes to use (you had to pay to unlock the other ones), so we had to get quite creative. In the end thought we all managed to print, cut, and admire our designs.
In the last 2 class periods we learned how to make stickers so we could ultimately sell stickers to customers.
In this project, we started off by selecting the photos we wanted to make into stickers. Then we used cricut to format, space out, and border our photos so that they can fit on a 8 x 7in paper. We were then showed how to actually use the Cricut to cut out our stickers. So after the demonstration we have to send our pictures to the printer to be printed then after that we were to cut our stickers by ourselves with little to no guidance.
In class we made hangers but creating the shape in inkscape, using the difference tool
The Athletics Department requested us to make signs for the volleyball and track seniors for senior night. We were tasked with making wooden signs and were each assigned a senior; but in order to do that we need to learn how to use the CNC machine. It was very confusing and there were quite a lot of moving parts to take care of, at one point we even had to remake a sign because the machine broke! But overall as you can see the signs came out nice and beautiful and we were proud to present them to the seniors.
Before we created our seniors signs, we did a test run. We all were given the task of making a wooden sign of our own. We had to choose whether we would engrave it, pocket, or cut. I chose to go for all 3 engraving the words, making a pocket and cutting it out. I learned how to operate the CNC machine and next time we will get to try out on our own! (hopefully)
While using the table saw I realized that there can only be so many 'corrections' that can be made. If you try so hard to make something "perfect then it can only end up compromising the quality of it. Some imperfections can just be there
Do's:
push through the machine slowly.
keep your hands at least 3 feet from the blade

Over the course of the second semester we each created a design we wanted the class to make. Then as we voted we came to the result of our table. Over the semester we made plans, cut and staned wood and poured our blood, sweat and tears into this project. This is the final result.
