What does it mean to volunteer?  Why would Drew require you volunteer for 100 hours during your high school career?  

Volunteering means giving your time and effort to help others without expecting anything in return. It’s about positively impacting your community and learning important life skills. Drew requires students to volunteer for 100 hours because it helps build character, teaches responsibility, and encourages us to be active citizens. It also gives us real-world experience and can help with college and job opportunities. 

During my time at Drew I had the opportunity to volunteer at so many different events such as a few being creating a toy drive for kids at taking it to our elementry, going to homeless shelters and making food and passing it out to people donating clothes and help sort them out neatly and also in 9th grade community service class where we had to garden.
