For the Sea Level Project pt1 and 2 I had to deepen my understanding of functions by applying them to real-world scenarios, specifically focusing on sea level rise in coastal Georgia. Through a project-based learning approach, I analyze tidal data from Fort Pulaski, using regression analysis to model and interpret the effects of sea level rise, thereby connecting mathematical concepts to environmental phenomena.
For our "Don Quixote" project, my group and I had to combine math and creativity. We started by solving equations related to modeling sinusoids, learning how to apply sine and cosine functions to real-life situations. Then, to make the project more fun, we wrote a poem and song that explained the key concepts, turning the math into a catchy, memorable tune. It was a great mix of teamwork, math skills, and artistic expression!
