This Skeletal System project was designed to show the full body structure of the human skeletal system. In order to do this, it was required to create a 2-foot scale model of the human skeletal system. Also, collaborative/group work was needed to achieve the final product. As I worked on this project, I learned many things about the shapes, functions, and various components of the skeleton. I also learned how to scale down the skeletal system to 1/3, how to 3D print each part such as the skull, vertebral column, collarbone, shoulder blades, rib cage, pelvic girdle, and the bones of the hands, arms, feet, and legs using a 3D printer, and how to label each bone and each part of the skeletal system. Lastly, I learned each part of the skull including Frontal, Sphenoid, Ethmoid, Nasal, Lacrimal, Zygomatic, Maxilla, Mandible, Parietal, Occipital, and Temporal.
For this project, my partner and I did heavy research on a skeletal disease called Melorheostosis. We made this poster and presented it in front of the class.
