Tis project mainly focused on gas laws. During this project, we had to choose an object that demonstrates how gas laws work in real life. I chose a pressure cooker because it is a great example of how pressure, temperature, and volume are related.
A pressure cooker works by trapping steam inside a sealed container. As the temperature increases, the water inside turns into gas (steam), which causes the pressure inside the cooker to rise. According to gas laws, when the temperature of a gas increases in a closed space, the pressure also increases if the volume stays the same. This is why the pressure cooker builds up so much pressure.
The increased pressure allows food to cook faster because it raises the boiling point of water. This means the molecules inside the cooker move faster and transfer heat more efficiently. Overall, the pressure cooker demonstrates the relationship between pressure, temperature, volume, and the number of gas molecules, which are all key parts of gas laws.
