I learned how to use collaborative art with chemistry. I used different art textures with lab tools for chemistry such as droppers and test tubes. I also showed a variety of different textures and values for elements of art. I also added the principles of design, by adding patterns, and unity. I used many tools like test tubes, droppers, burners, and an Erlenmeyer flask.
This assessment was on an element on the periodic table. The element I worked on was Phosphorus. Phosphorus is a mineral that naturally occurs in many foods and in soil. I focus on how the element is used during the growth of plants and how it helps other things like soil. I made rocks (grey), grass(green), and soil(brown) by layering each one. I also researched that wheat is most likely to have phosphorus in it.
This ceramics is my favorite thing. So while making this or getting the ideas for this, I had to think of my favorite things: music, animals, and nature. The process of this was that I had to get a good amount of clay and start to wedge the clay and then shape and mold my clay into different things. Something I made was a turtle and a leaf. I added some musical notes to the clay and added some rocks with some texture and some water-type textures. While I am done with forming and shaping the clay to my liking, it has to become bone-dry. Bone-dry is when the moisture is out of the clay and dry enough to bisque fire. After the bone-dry stage, it’s the bisque ware stage of clay. The bisque stage is when the clay is fired in the kiln and removes any chemically bonded water and impurities from the clay. After the clay is dried I can glaze/paint it in colors I would like to be green for the turtle and leaf.
Deeply Rooted was a Project within different classes. In each class as in Chemistry and others like Spanish; it was all different things collaborated into this project. In art class, we made our own symbols, we made them in different forms; such as in crystals, and also by making our own paper and painting on it. With my crystal, I made a tree in nature with musical notes and a flower hanging from it. The process of making crystals is using pipe cleaners, a cut of hot water mixed with borax, and food color is wanted. The pipe cleaners are placed in the cup and are left until it's a crystal. With paper we used other paper to make our own sheets of paper - by ripping pages up, blending them, and straining them into a sheet of paper. I painted some mountains, grass, and some flowers. I drew that because that's what you can think of as Nature, then I put some red over it as if it were to destroy it.
Deeply Rooted PBL Entry Event
This assignment is about the Principle of Design, with this assignment we picked one of the 9 principles of design and I chose pattern. I did this one because I like pattern is most things as in fashion or in everyday things. Pattern can be different is many ways, as in flowers to colors.
This assignment is us using Charcoal in different ways. We drew quick drawings and loose sketches of the body and different positions. We would have to get the limbs of the body as we see trying to capture the movement of my classmates. We also drew fruits and a cup from our point of view. We made sure to get the shadows that are shown and the highlights that are reflecting off the fruits.
In Art class, we are given the chance to make our own tattoo designs. We had reference pictures to get some inspiration for making our own. We had homemade ink that was made in class to trace the outline of our tattoo sketch. I drew angel numbers with some flowers; two think I like I put them together to make my tattoo design.
