My Tenth Grade classes were Spanish III, World Literature and Composition, AP World History, Visual Art Comp II, Chemistry, AP 2D Design, Harp, and Algebra II.
The Guernica project was an artistic expression of our stance on a world conflict of our choosing. We learned about world conflicts in our classes and created a piece of collaborative art based on Picasso's "Guernica" to showcase what we learned. Our studies on different conflicts in Literature and World History helped us develop research skills on current and past world conflicts. The most difficult part of the process was completing the section and using different values and textures for each of the many sections within our section. We enjoyed learning and using different painting techniques and working together to form a cohesive, but still fragmented, image. If we did this project again, we would have put more complexity into our sketch and made the issue more obvious in our section. We would want to have more planning time to sketch out our section.
Below are the slides that my group and I made documenting our research and design process, and to the left is a video of my group (Alice Davis, Hannah Fields, and Miles Slaton) and me presenting on our chosen issue (gang violence)
Hello, my name is Judah, and I'm in the 10th grade. In my opinion, Eco-Trafficking is an important problem because it's bad for the environment. It is also not good because people use the plants for drugs. People can then get sick from these drugs, but people in the drug trade make money from harming the environment. Finally, another reason why this is bad is that some animals can be killed and used for jackets.
