English Assignment #1
Newtons rockets
In class today we made a bottle rocket, first, we taped 3 straws around the bottle after draining it. Second, we filled the bottle with vinegar. Third, we rolled baking soda in 1 layer of toilet paper. Fourth, we made a Coorg fit the bottle top. Then finally, we added the baking soda and shook up the bottle, added the Coorg, then flipped it.
The first step is shaping, which is a part of the elements of art. The straws also help with the balance of the object. First, we had to add an extra straw to balance it, but pencils would be more stable. The grass was unbalanced which caused the rocket to fall over, next time we're going to do it on concrete because it is more stable.
Science Assignment #2
In class today we made Newton's Cradle, first, we got around 25 popsicle sticks, 7 strings, 7 marbles, and glue with tape. Second, we made a stand for the cradle with 12 sticks. Then, we glued the string to the marbles and taped the marbles on the top of the stand. After, we glued popsicle sticks on the inside to make a floor. Finally, we put sticks on top of the string to insure it from moving.
The first step is shape, form, and balance, which is a part of the element of art and the principle of design. The second part was taping the marbles with string on the cradle, This is balance and space because we had to line them up and space them out perfectly. Finally, we added glue sticks o make a floor which is a repetition. And when you pull the marbles back and let them go it has a rhythm.
