In Literature and Composition, we created a project (in my case in the form of a presentation) about real-life themes in The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (in my case, these themes were stereotypes and media representation.)

In Geometry, we completed an urban-planning project to learn about how the placement of resources and structure of cities is related to social justice and geometry.

Create a robot diorama based on the play Romeo and Juliet.

• Students will analyze a selection from Romeo and Juliet and decide how to use art and symbolism to express their understanding of the play.

• Students will work in a group to design, build, and program a robotic diorama that represents their assigned selection. Subject covers art, engineering, ELA, and technology.

Students will create or label a world map showing the MAJOR agricultural regions. Requirements

• Label all continents (7) and oceans(5)

• Label 3 agricultural regions

• Use LED Lights (3) to distinguish each region. Lights must be installed and programmed.

• Map must include a legend and title. Must also be colorful and creative.

• Must have a venn diagram comparing and contrast Subsistence Agriculture and Commercial Agriculture.

• Create a compass rose using cardboard and dial sensor

• Must have dial sensor installed and programmed

For our 9th grade PBL project, I had the role of creating a presentation about issues in the Kirkwood Urban Forest, including invasive species.
