About Your Drew Experience

Drew is different from other schools because of their focus on STEAM. Here at Drew, I can be a STEAM Ambassador, a title that doesn't even exist at most schools.

As a STEAM Ambassador for Drew, I had the opportunity to represent my school's dedication to education in the STEAM fields. I organized a portfolio to present to judges who would determine whether or not Drew would become STEAM-certified. The experience was the first time I was interviewed and it taught me how to prepare myself and present professionally. My portfolio and preparedness helped Drew Charter become steam-certified that year. At the end of my 9th-grade year, I was presented with an award recognizing my contributions to our school. In 10th grade, a handful of Steam Ambassadors and I were tasked with showing teachers considering working at Drew around the building and informing them all about how Drew prioritizes STEAM. Being a STEAM Ambassador taught me that in life STEAM is in everything we do, playing video games, drawing, and even building legos are all STEAM activities and showcase the variety of how STEAM can be applied to help us thrive.
