Mapa De Playa Verde
For this activity, I created a hand-drawn map of a fictional town called Playa Verde with different places labeled in Spanish, such as la escuela, el supermercado, and la panadería. I learned how to use Spanish vocabulary for buildings, streets, and other locations while practicing correct spelling and accents. This project helped me improve my writing and reading skills in Spanish by labeling and organizing a town. One challenge was remembering the gender for each word (like el or la), but it helped me understand Spanish grammar better.
Libro de Recetas
The final project for the first semester of spanish was to make recipe cards. We started off by getting a random Latin American country and then picking 2 recipes from that country. We used recipes in english and then (with our spanish skills) translated the recipe to be in spanish. This was challenging for me because in spanish the verbs are conjecated differently when giving a command. Although I had a hard time conjecating the words to give a command I enjoyed learning the measurments in spanish like una taza ( 1 cup). I also saw this assignment as a opertunity to learn new foods in spanish that werent in my vocabulary before. In the slide show to the left you can see i made Crema De Choclo and Leche Asada.
~Libro~
In class we made a book in spanish. This book helped us learn more about conjecatign in the past tense, preterite & imperfect. I had a hard time conjegating because I am not the best at it. I also had to figure out a way to convey Spanish words that arent my day to day words. I enjoyed this project because it included many aspects of STEAM and it was never boring. I would recommend this to other people trying to learn a language because it helped me alot. Overall I enjoyed this writing project.
